I have always had an interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy. Some of my favorite authors, past and present, have been Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, JRR Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, James Patterson (for the Daniel X and Maximum Ride series), Ted Dekker, Stephen King, and a host of others.
I was President of the Future Scientists of America in high school and had a long career as a computer programmer with IBM (with two patents in my name). When I retired, I had a desire to write novels, but wondered if I had the ability? I had an idea for a book once before, but it never really motivated me enough to start it. When I retired, I simply decided to write a book that I would enjoy reading. I really began to write it for myself, and when I did, the story took on a life of its own. This same phenomenon has happened with all my books. It is as if the stories write themselves.
If you have an interest in becoming an author, I have a lot I can share—everything from how I get my inspirations, how I write my stories, the process of getting a book published, designing a cover, marketing your books, and many other topics. See the blogs below for more information. Learn from my mistakes and shorten your own time in getting that first book out in print (or in ebook format, whichever you prefer!)
